National Unity Day
31st October is celebrated as National Unity Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who played a pivotal role in unifying India after Independence.
This day has special significance as it affirms the inner strength and fortitude of the nation, reminding the citizens about unity, integrity and security. As part of this celebration, the students of Delhi Public School, Durgapur celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Divas with a lot of enthusiasm and vigour. The students actively participated in the celebration by conducting a couple of activities with the overarching theme ‘Fostering Unity’.
‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ Pledge was undertaken by the students in the morning assembly. Followed by the Pledge, was a short distance Run for Unity in the school field and simultaneously, a speech was presented by a student, emphasizing on the contribution and role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in national integrity.
This observance of National Unity Day paid homage to the great historical figure and also reminded all about the importance of unity and integrity in a diverse and culturally rich nation like India. Delhi Public School Durgapur was greatly elated and proud to be a part of the celebration of this significant day.
