Kick Off 2023
The second edition of Kick-off, 2023 was Organized by Delhi Public School, Durgapur, in their State-of -the -art , football ground. This prestigious football tournament, held among 14 schools across West Bardhaman, witnessed an exceptional showcase of talent, sportsmanship, and youthful vigor from 19 July 2023 to 27 July 2023. The tournament’s climax reached with an intense final match between the host school, Delhi Public School, Durgapur, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. Both teams demonstrated exceptional skills and performance, captivating the spectators. In a fiercely contested match, Delhi Public School Durgapur emerged victorious with a 4-2 win in a penalty shoot-out, claiming the much coveted championship trophy. The event was illuminated by the august presence of Mr Rathin Bhattacharya, former coach of World University Football Team (1985) who presided over the show as the chief-guest, and Vivek Singh, one the most sought-after footballers of East Bengal FC (2022-23), as the Guest of Honour. Mr. Bhattacharya and Mr. Singh, along with the Principal of Delhi Public School, Durgapur presented the winners with the championship trophy. The players’ dedication, teamwork, and resilience were on full display, and their triumph will undoubtedly serve as an inspiration to aspiring footballers everywhere.
