Durga Puja Assembly
Delhi Public School, Durgapur marked the spirit of Ashwin with Durga Puja Assembly on October 19, 2023. The ceremony was live-streamed on Facebook. The elderly people of Vivekananda Bhav Samaj,the old age home, were cordially welcomed by the teachers and the students. The atmosphere was set with the lighting of the lamp by Principal Shri Umesh Chand Jaiswal and the Chief Guest from the Vivekananda Bhav Samaj of Durgapur. The beautifully co-ordinated assembly saw 150 young students, dressed in traditional clothes. The programme began with a welcome song which was followed by an enlightening speech by the Principal. A dance drama depicting ‘Nabarup’ of Devi Durga, along with splendid dance performances, mesmerized the audience. A skit illustrating the nine forms of Maa Durga was performed in English. Each day of Navratri was celebrated with reverence for Goddess Durga’s forms, symbolizing the victory of truth over evil. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Head Boy, Avik Singha Roy, leaving everyone with a heartwarming experience and a festive spirit.
