Delhi Public School, Durgapur celebrated the 160th Birth anniversary of India’s First Nobel Laureate, Kavi Guru Rabindranath Tagore by presenting a bouquet of songs, poems and dances from Gurudev’s repertoire.
The progamme was made live on the Fb and Instagram page of the school, on 9th of May. The song ‘aloker ei jharna ‘ was a plea to the Almighty to rejuvenate the world and take away the darkness, flush out the dirt from mind, soul and world. The timeless poems of Rabi Thakur – Noukajatra, Sat somudro pare, Khela bhola, lukochuri, Annya Maa, were recited by the students. The dances from Geetabitan, were an effort to remind, that we like an ocean ceaselessly rise and fall but never stop the journey towards excellence. The meticulous ppt presentation on this greatest renaissance figure reconfirmed the making of ‘The Sentinel’.
It was a wonderful experience to dedicate the day to ‘Bard of Bengal’, a representative of an amalgamation of Indian and modern values.
