Independence Day 2023
Delhi Public School, Durgapur instilled a sense of patriotism and pride in the country’s heritage among the students, by celebrating 77 th Independence Day with a captivating series of performances , providing a platform to honour freedom fighters of our country.
The day commenced with a solemn and pride-infused moment of flag hoisting by Group Captain B. Jai Ganesh, the Chief Guest of the ceremony, Mrs Ganesh and the Principal, Shri Umesh Chand Jaiswal. The national anthem resonated in the air, filling hearts with pride and unity. The dynamic energy of the young dancers, joined by the enthusiasm of the Bulbul troop, set the rhythm for the day.
Principal Umesh Chand Jaiswal’s insightful address underscored the significance of freedom, responsibility, and education’s role in moulding conscientious citizens. A poignant mime performance highlighted the struggles of the freedom movement. The sacrifices of Indian soldiers were evocatively depicted through a soul-stirring Bengali recitation which was followed by a mesmerizing dance performance weaved through a medley of patriotic songs. Group Captain B. Jai Ganesh, shared valuable insights that highlighted the essence of freedom, democracy, and national progress, encouraging students to contribute actively to the nation’s development. The day concluded with the Head Girl, Mihika Bajoria’s, acknowledgement to everyone’s participation in making the event a success.
