Delhi Public School, Durgapur celebrated 161st birth anniversary of one of the greatest Laureates, Rabindranath Tagore on 7th May in the school premises. The programme commenced with lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest Professor Madhumita Jajodia, Principal, Durgapur Women’s College and Shri Umesh Chand Jaiswal, Principal, Delhi Public School, Durgapur. A medley of Rabindra songs , poems ,dances from his repertoire were presented in the programme. Through his speech, the Principal of the school, Sri Umesh Chand Jaiswal reminded us of the huge responsibility to carry forward the great cultural tradition left by the visionary, Rabindra Nath Tagore. The Chief Guest Professor Madhumita Jajodia’s valuable thoughts on the auspicious occasion enlightened the students. The whole programme was a spectacular event to look out for and ended, keeping the spirit of Tagore in our hearts and minds.
