Children’s Day
A school without the mirthful voices of the children is only a concrete building of cement and bricks or just like a nest without the chirping birdie. They are the flowers of the garden where the teachers are the gardeners who nurture them with love and care so that they bloom as best human beings. Children’s Day was celebrated with great splendour and gaiety on November 14 at Delhi Public School (DPS), Durgapur. The day was celebrated with mirth, loads of enthusiasm and laughter. The Pre-Primary Wing and Primary Wing students witnessed a plethora of events- dance, medley of songs, poem presented by their teachers. The special attractions were the puppet show, group dances, and mime show; the huge applause by the students seemed to further strengthen the bond between teachers and students, as the teachers reminisced their childhood through their presentations. Bengali dramas like “China Patka” by Sukumar Roy, “Bishwakarmar Ghuri” by Narayan Gangopadhyay were performed by the Senior Wing along with dance performances. The students were overwhelmed and enjoyed the day. The programme was concluded with the satisfaction and smiles as the teachers wished the students “Happy Children’s Day”.
